Who is St Francis of Assisi? A radical reformer of the 13th century in Italy whose passionate commitment to Christ led him to a life of utter poverty in the service of the poor. Inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi, the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) reach out to care for the poor, sick and dying.

Sharing in Mary's divine motherhood especially to those most vulnerable in today's world include the family, children and women.

Our Mission - sharing the joy, pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters, especially the poor, sick and dying, the marginalized. Healthcare was one of the many ways in which the Congregation tries to fulfill its mission, hence Mount Alvernia Hospital, which was built as a Catholic Hospital in 1961.
