The Taiping Catholic community celebrated a historic milestone at the Church of St Louis as Sr Laurin Nantini Kowal took her final vows. She became a full member of the Daughters of St Paul (FSP - Figlie di San Paolo) and the first-ever vocation from Taiping. The Rite of Religious Profession, presided over by Cardinal Sebastian Francis, included the examination of readiness, the Litany of the Saints, and the reading of the profession formula. Witnessed by family, friends, and fellow sisters, including her Provincial Superior, Sr Purificacion Barrientos, and Provincial Councillor, Sr Lourdes Bagalay, Sr Laurin received a fraternal embrace symbolising her definitive acceptance into the religious family. Following the Eucharist, she received her mandate and a Holy Bible, assigning her to serve in Tacloban, Philippines. Born in 1991, Sr Laurin joined the FSP in 2013, making her the second vocation from Perak after Sr Elizabeth Jothee.
