College General in Penang recently hosted a historic gathering for its patronal feast, celebrating St. Philip Minh and his fellow Vietnamese martyrs. This event, themed "Together in Faith," marked the first time seminarians' families were invited. The programme included a reflection by Father George Vaithyanathan, followed by a Holy Hour and Mass, presided over by Archbishop Julian Leow.

Archbishop Julian praised the martyrs as a "shining thread" in the seminary's history and commended alumni who did not pursue the priesthood, noting that their seminary formation successfully prepared them to serve the Church, families, and communities with faith and discipline. The seminary, which marked its 360th anniversary last year, continues to inspire globally. The community also remembered Marcel Truong, a Cambodian alumnus who bravely returned home during the Khmer Rouge genocide and subsequently disappeared. Marcel's cause for canonisation, alongside other heroic students, underscores College General's enduring missionary spirit.
