Rooted in Integral Human Development and Pope Francis's call to missionary discipleship, seven Malaysian participants from the Archdiocesan Office for Human Development (AOHD) embarked on Mission Kenya 2026. This immersion trip brought them to the Tana River region, building on the legacy of former tax accountant Gabriel Teo Kian Chong, who established the Tana River Life Foundation (TRLF) over three decades ago.


Through visits to remote schools, local farms, and village communities, participants witnessed how TRLF empowers youth through education, mentorship, and sustainable agriculture. Direct engagement with local communities allowed the team to experience development focused on human dignity and resilience. Ultimately, the journey challenged participants to step beyond their comfort zones, returning home with new perspectives, deep gratitude, and a renewed commitment to compassionate service.
