CTAM Celebrates Teacher's Day with a Call to Vocation and Service
The Catholic Teachers' Association Malaysia (CTAM) celebrated Teacher's Day on 16 May 2026 at the Stella Maris School Chapel in Damansara Heights. The event featured a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Julian Leow and concelebrated by Fr Alvin Ho, SJ. Following the Mass, participants enjoyed a motivational talk by Dato Dr Nelson Renganathan, along with games and fellowship that fostered joy and a sense of community.
The gathering brought together local Catholic teachers and 34 trainee teachers from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjong Malim, representing East Malaysia. In his homily, Archbishop Julian likened teachers to priests, highlighting their role as the pulse of the nation and as enduring role models who shape students' hearts, minds, and Gospel values. Dato Dr Nelson further emphasised teaching as a vocation, urging educators to embrace sacrifice, focus on value formation, and engage in caring interactions that extend beyond the classroom.
