Serving the Church Through Law

Canonists and tribunal staff from across Malaysia gathered in Penang for the sixth Canon Law Society conference. Hosted at the Monsignor Aloysius Spirituality Centre by Penang’s ecclesiastical tribunal, the significant event opened with Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Msgr Jude Miranda led the liturgy, concelebrated by Msgr Gilbertus J. Engan, Fr. Dominic Santhiyagu, Fr. William Michael, and Fr. Damian Charles Pereira.

The insights featured presentations by Fr. Dominic on archive stewardship, Fr. William on marriage tribunals, and Fr. Jeffri Gumu on the society's constitution. Members later reviewed progress and upcoming initiatives during the Annual General Meeting. Beyond these academic discussions, participants enjoyed meaningful fellowship, strengthening collaborative ties and their shared mission of serving the regional Church.
